MAP FROM THE LATE 1890s SHOWING
A FOOTBALL GROUND
The road that runs from top left towards bottom right is North Crescent Road.
In 1885 and 1886, the football ground may have been called Annfield Park because
it was used by Ardrossan Annfield Football Club and the nearest house to the
park at the junction of North Crescent Road and Caledonia Road was called
Annfield Villas.
There is no evidence to support this hypothesis but it merits some consideration.
